Autocompleting usernames in comments does not seem to work

It seems like autocompleting usernames does not work. I wanted to answer a comment and started typing @ followed by the first letter in the username, but no suggestion appeared. I tried pressing tab but nothing happened.

Is this a bug? Is there's something wrong with my browser (Firefox)? Or is it just an unimplemented feature?

Update: With the rollout of threaded comments, autocomplete has now been implemented. :)

This feature doesn't currently exist.

We're planning on revamping comments entirely at some point in the future (read: whenever we have the dev time and it becomes a priority), including most likely threaded comments, which will be easier to use than having to type in @mentions. At that point we might implement autocomplete for mentions in any case, though.

At the moment, however, it's unlikely that this will be implemented because it's simply not worth the effort improving a system that's going to be entirely overhauled and replaced.

Right now, there is no auto completion feature for comments.

If you want to notify users, you have to write their names by yourself, e.g "Thank you @user". Spaces in usernames should be written together, e.g. "Thank you @UserName" for notifying a user called User Name.
