What's the difference between Inheritance and Polymorphism? What does OOP actually mean?

  • I had learned all these stuffs earlier. But, I was too young to understand these things. When I learned these things the explanation had gone upto my mind(I didn't understand single word). Now, I am thinking to learn everything step by step. When I was watching some tutorials. I noticed that they were returning values in Inheritance. And, they were printing values inside method (or, in that class). Does Inteheritance actually meant return and Polymorphism meant to print out values? These things were looking like constructor little bit also (not completely there's some differences). I had been coding for 4 years. I didn't know most of tools name. I was just coding as a kid :D. Does OOP mean dealing with classes and objects?

  • I had studied OOP, inheritance and polymorphism before, but I could never really get it.
  • In the examples above, I noticed that in the polymorphism examples, the methods don't return a value, while in the inheritance examples, they do. Would that be the difference between those two concepts?
  • What about OOP, does it mean just dealing with classes and objects?
