A gratis cloud of icons usable as HTML tag values
I want to use Font Awesome without locally installing it, rather, by using it in a cloud technology like manner.

```css
@font-face {
    font-family: 'FontAwesome', sans-serif;
    src: url("URL") format("FORMAT"),
}
i {
    font-family: 'FontAwesome', sans-serif;
}
```

And then:

```html
<i>&ICON_UNICODE_VALUE;</i>
```

I understand from https://fontawesome.com/start that currently there is no such way.

If indeed there is no such way, what could be a gratis alternative?

Perhaps only [UTF-8 miscellaneous symbols](https://www.w3schools.com/charsets/ref_utf_misc_symbols.asp)?
