Q&A

How can I customize the default project templates, or create my own, in Android Studio 4.2.1

I want to remove a deprecated entry from the default build.gradle file as well as change the default layout of an empty activity to use Relative Layout instead of constraint.

I'm using Android Studio 4.2.1 on Windows 10.

I've seen Q&A elsewhere with solutions that apparently no longer work on the most current version of the IDE.

I'm not a Java developer and I know literally nothing about Android Studio but after a little of research I've found this issue so it seems like it is impossible to create custom template currently. There was a link to Geminio plugin that can probably replace that functionality though. Tbh I'm even not sure whether this info is relevant or not. FoggyFinder‭ 15 days ago
