Oops!
  • I was installing Java yesterday. I had faced lot of problem. I had fixed most of them. But I had changed Hash that's what I think. I don't remember which command I had executed since I had executed lots of command and visited lots of site. Now, whenever I go to install something I get an error which says `Hash Sum mismatch`.

  • E: Unable to fetch some archives, maybe run apt-get update or try with --fix-missing?
  • ```
  • I had tried to update my system with --fix-missing. I got no error. I had tried following commands
  • ```bash
  • sudo apt-get update
  • sudo apt-get update --fix-missing
  • sudo apt-get upgrade
  • ```
  • I got no error. I am just getting that error whenever I try to install something.
  • I had cleaned my system and updated yesterday.
  • ```bash
  • sudo apt-get clean
  • sudo apt-get update
  • sudo apt-get upgrade
  • sudo apt-get update --fix-missing
  • ```
  • I had removed some files also.
  • ```bash
  • sudo rm -rf /var/lib/apt/lists/*
  • ```
  • I think `clean` and above command had done same process. https://askubuntu.com/a/41618/1439690
  • I have recently installed a random application in my system called Audacious. I got no error for that. But I only get the error for openjdk-11-jdk (It's only happening for jdk related "files" including `default-jdk`). Even if you look at output of that installation than you will notice my system is saying they need 37.2 MB `37.2 MB/264 MB` while the package is 264 MB.
  • Since I have asked it here that's why I am not going to repost it in Linux CD. Let me say, what I had done to my system. I remember I had installed a software called Bynanz (I think I have misspelled cause I can't find it in my history cause I had searched this in Chrome it's actually video recorder maybe). For the software, I couldn't update my system. That's why I had executed following command.
  • ```bash
  • sudo apt-add-repository -r /bynanz/.... #I can't remember the file properly that's why I am using ... for that reason.
  • sudo apt-get update
  • sudo apt-get upgrade
  • ```
  • Before executing the above command, I was getting error while updating my system. I don't remember the error actually also. Cause I just searched in internet about it. So I don't remember anything accurately and I can't find in my Chrome's history. After executing above command I started installing Java, JDK. I was following [the article](https://www.digitalocean.com/community/tutorials/how-to-install-java-with-apt-on-ubuntu-18-04) to install Java and JDK.
  • ```bash
  • sudo apt install default-jdk #I had installed some more software with JDK name but I can't find their name now.
  • sudo apt install software-properties-common
  • sudo apt-key adv --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com --recv-keys EA8CACC073C3DB2A
  • ```
  • Yesterday, when I asked the same question somewhere else he told me to execute following commands.
  • ```bash
  • sudo sed -i 's/us.archive.ubuntu.com/archive.ubuntu.com/g' /etc/apt/sources.list #when I told him that I was facing that error after updating my system and executing the command he told me to executing another sed command
  • sudo sed -i -re 's/\w+\.archive\.ubuntu\.com/archive.ubuntu.com/g' /etc/apt/sources.list #I haven't learn sed that's why I usually don't know what the program does. But I know that it is just changing my location of archive (I don't have any idea what it's actually called) in sources.list
  • ```
  • So I am going to show my sources.list file here.
  • ```bash

  • Didn't you wonder I got no error this time? Another magic is,

  • >
  • >If I have to install only 37.2 MB in 264 MB than this package should take only 37.2 MB 100 MB in average or in higher 264 MB. But it is taking 413 MB. What?! Really!? It's completely mind-blowing to me. But, it doesn't give me headache cause I remember my experience on Windows that if I had downloaded a file with 100 MB and install that than it takes 1 GB. So I don't care of the message.
  • After installing those packages I still can't run netbeans..

  • ```bash
  • sudo apt-add-repository -remove ppa:bynanz/....
  • ```bash

  • >If I have to install only 37.2 MB in 264 MB than this package should take only 37.2 MB 100 MB in average or in higher 264 MB. But it is taking 413 MB. What?! Really!? So I don't care of the message.

I had removed the repository I have faced the similar issue again that's why I am sure about the command

  • ```bash
  • sudo apt-add-repository /bynanz/....

Another magic is,
  • >>Need to get 37.2 MB/264 MB of archives.
  • After this operation, 413 MB of additional disk space will be used.

  • ```bash

  • ```bash
  • sudo apt-add-repository /bynanz/....
  • ```bash

Hash sum mismatch (only for openjdk-11-jdk)
I was installing Java yesterday. I had faced lot of problem. I had fixed most of them. But I had changed Hash that's what I think. I don't remember which command I had executed since I had executed lots of command and visited lots of site. Now, whenever I go to install something I get an error which says `Hash Sum mismatch`.

```bash
sudo apt install openjdk-11-jdk
