empty line in table cell in reStructuredText (rst)
I would like to have an empty line in the cell of a table in reStructuredText. Consider the following example:
.. list-table::
:header-rows: 1
* - aaa
- bbb
* - ccc
- ddd
eee
Which produces this table:
But I would like there to be an empty line between "ddd" and "eee" in the lower-right cell of the table. So it should look something like this:
How do I achieve this?

First thing to note: reStructuredText does not have a representation of “blank line”.
The example you give, already has a lower-right cell containing to separate paragraphs, “ddd” and “eee”. They are rendered with vertical space between them, as is normal for paragraphs.
Yet, you are unsatisfied with how these paragraphs have rendered:
I would like there to be an empty line between "ddd" and "eee" in the lower-right cell of the table.
What it sounds like you want is: Render more vertical space between those two paragraphs in the cell, different from other cells.
You can set a meaningful class name (you should choose a name that indicates why these paragraphs need to be separated by more space) on this one cell:
.. list-table::
:header-rows: 1
* - aaa
- bbb
* - ccc
-
.. class:: more-vertical-space
ddd
eee
and then use the stylesheet when rendering (e.g. the LaTeX stylesheet) to style that class specially.
Or, maybe you always want paragraphs to render with more vertical space? You can also use the stylesheet for that, without needing to mark anything special on the cell.
Which stylesheet you use, depends on what output rendering process you use.
