Are questions about web browsers on topic on Software Applications?

I have recently posted this question on Web Application SE and I am wondering if such a question would be on-topic here.

The questions deals with understanding a feature of Google Chrome Developer Console: GRPR / GTM flag.

The site is called Software Development, not "Applications". Meaning programming.

On-topic:

  • Questions about different behavior of web browsers in the context of web application programming.
  • Questions about writing plug-ins for web browsers or accessing an API/library provided by web browsers etc.

Off-topic

  • Questions about using or configuring web browsers.

Based on this, I believe the linked question would be off-topic here since it has nothing to do with programming.

I think the question is much closer to your first bullet than to your last, and is thus on-topic. It's called the developer console for a reason.

While I agree with you, why do we allow a ton of questions about Google Sheets and Excel if this is true? It seems like those are the majority of questions here

@laserkittens Those are borderline on-topic. An excel formula is (arguably) a very limited form of programming. If you think they should be off-topic, you could propose it here. However, it has been suggested to either migrate them to either a "Power User" site or an office suite site, both of these are currently proposed on meta.codidact.

I agree with the Power User migration but have no issues with them in either location.
