Is it possible to mutate the DOM directly from HTML, without any JavaScript?

All the ways I know of to mutate a DOM are JavaScript.

Just for broadening general knowledge I want to know if there is any common way to mutate the DOM via HTML itself, without involving any JavaScript (perhaps some internal HTML function that will cause this).

No you can't.

HTML stands for Hyper-text markup language. So it's basically a text that may link to itself or to other texts and that have some styles.

HTML is for providing the structure of the page, whose style (appearance) could be altered by css and in any other way by Javascript. But it's not dynamic (programmable) by itself.

HTTP != HTML

HTTP is not a text that may link to itself or other text. It's a protocol. While it's primary purpose is to request and transport HTML document text, HTTP is not the same as HTML. And it also deals with more than just requesting and transporting HTML document text. In the same sense as a passenger car is not being a passenger, and a passenger car also has features addressing other purposes than just transporting passengers (like transporting luggage, for example).

I re-read my answer and I really don't know what went into my head when I wrote it. I should had been in a hurry and got confused or something. Maybe I'm getting crazy LOL. Sorry for that. I know perfectly well that what I've written isn't correct. Corrected it. 30 years in software development to pass the image of a ridiculous noob :/ Again sorry.
